July 24 to Aug. 2 – Secondary Characters presents Into the Woods, an epic fairytale running July 24 to Aug. 2 at the Cultural Centre. Show dates are July 24, 25, 26, 31, Aug. 1 and 2 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets $22/adult, $28/senior, $16/student. Special $12 tickets on July 24 preview. July 26 – Stó:lō Nation Chiefs Council invite the public to participate in the fourth annual Stó:lō Gathering: Honouring Our Youth today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Coqualeetza Grounds (7201 Vedder Rd.). This event will acknowledge the Stó:lō Nation communities successes and achievements and mark them with an honouring and cultural celebration. Day includes cultural performances, a barbecue, arts and crafts, Slahal, aboriginal youth art contest, cultural tours, and more. Now to July 26 – The Chilliwack Visual Artists Association presents its group show, Movement, at the Art Gallery in the Cultural Centre from June 12 to July 26. Gallery hours: Wednesdays to Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m. on show evenings.

July 30 – Music and More takes place every Wednesday evening from July 2 to Aug. 27 featuring music, entertainment, arts and crafts, theatre and more at both the Chilliwack Library (5-7 p.m.) and the Sardis Library (4-6 p.m.) on alternating Wednesdays. Tonight’s event is at the Chilliwack Library and features the Chilliwack Learning Community Society, a drum circle, and Dixieland Memories.

July 30 – Chilliwack Visual Artists Association presents The Open Door, an exhibition by local artists with disabilities from Chilliwack Society for Community Living. The one-day show is open today from noon to 5 p.m. at the Art Gallery in the Cultural Centre. Admission is free.

Now to July 31 – Rosedale photographers, Michael and Jutta Schulz, have a series of photographs printed on metal at the Chilliwack Museum in an exhibit called Spectrum from June 21 to July 31. Gallery hours: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. Admission  $3/adults, $2/seniors.

Now to Sept. 6 – The Cultus Lake Saturday Market in the Park at Main Beach runs every Saturday now until Sept. 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. www.cultuslakecommunity.com.

Now to Sept. 11 – Members of the Golden Palette Art Club currently have their work on display at The Art Room until Sept. 11. The gallery is located at 20-5725 Vedder Rd. and is open Mondays to Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Now to October – The Eco Market runs every Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Sardis Park featuring locals artists, farmers and more. www.theecomarket.ca.
