Sept. 10 to 14 – Theatre production For Groom the Bell Tolls, written and directed by Chilliwack’s Richard Ogilvie, is about a wedding that was never supposed to happen. Show times are Sept. 10-13 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 13 and 14 at 2 p.m. in the Rotary Hall Studio Theatre at the Cultural Centre. Sept. 12 – Andrew and Zachari Smith perform at the Acoustic Emporium (The Vineyard Centre, 45892 Wellington Ave.) at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.). Tickets $10 at the door. www.acousticemporium.com.

Sept. 13 to Nov. 4 – The Chilliwack Spinners and Weavers Guild have their fibre arts show, Tye One On, on display at the Art Room (20-5725 Vedder Rd.) from Sept. 13 to Nov. 4. The show focuses on a beautiful variety of scarves and shawls that celebrate the upcoming fall season. Opening reception is Saturday, Sept. 13 from 2 to 4 p.m. which includes spinning and weaving techniques. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 604-769-2787

Now to Sept. 13 – Diane White’s solo exhibition, H2O Under Attack, is at the Art Gallery in the Cultural Centre Aug. 2 to Sept. 13. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday, and 6 to 8 p.m. on show evenings.

Now to Sept. 26 – Photographer and writer Margaret Evans presents an exploration of the 50-million year evolution of horses in North America with her solo exhibition Horses From the Mists of Time at the Chilliwack Museum Aug. 9 to Sept. 26. Admission: $3/adults and $2/seniors and students.

Now to November – The Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra Chorus has immediate openings and welcomes committed singers whose voices blend well in a group. All singers are expected to attend weekly rehearsals in preparation for both the upcoming Christmas and spring performances. The ability to read music is a requirement.
