Best Green Hot Sauce – prize of $25 went to Gregor’s Gourmet of Keremeos.
Best Red Hot Sauce was won by Graeme Uhlemann of Oliver, who won $25.
Best Specialty Hot Sauce went to Hellish Relish, entered by JamBusters (Brenda Engel) of Princeton. She won $25.
Best Overall Hot Sauce was a unanimous decision by the judges that saw the $50 prize go the Hellish Relish made by JamBusters (Brenda Engel) of Princeton.
The Sear Factor Hot Pepper Eating Contest had 21 entrants, 14 actual participants and two who did not finish.
First Place went to Anthony Klinkera of Vancouver with a time of 32.31-seconds. He won $100.
Second Place and $75 went to Sarah Mercure of Montreal with a time of 35.15-seconds.
Third Place ($25) was awarded to Luke Vesprey of Keremeos. His time was 46.00-seconds.
A special consolation prize of a ‘Pat On The Back’ went to the Fourth Place finisher Stacie Corrigan of Vancouver who finished the peppers in a time of 57.53-seconds.
