Skampida fuses Colombian reggae and folk rhythms with hip hop, punk and Latin styles.
The group has performed with artists such as Molotov, Dead Kennedys, and Voodoo Glow Skulls.
Skampida performs during the Colombian Ska and Reggae Showcase, along with Mistica, in Nanaimo on Thursday (June 22). The show is at 9 p.m. at the Queen’s and tickets are $15 in advance at Fascinating Rhythm, Arbutus Music and the Queen’s.
It’s the debut performance for Mistica in Nanaimo and a return visit for Skampida, which performed in the city in 2011.
