The Gardeners Green Folk Club will hold another house concert in Merville June 11 at 7 p.m.

The performers will be the four-piece band Skewlines, a recently formed ensemble whose members are from Vancouver Island.

Instruments we can look forward to seeing and hearing include fiddle, mandolin, cittern, tenor banjo, guitar, uilleann pipes, flute and percussion, accompanied by beautiful harmony singing.

Starting with their common love of Celtic tunes and songs, the band has put together a repertoire of their favourites and created some hauntingly lovely and powerful sets which they’re very excited to share with their audiences.

Their music is influenced by Irish, Scottish, Quebecois, Cape Breton, Scandinavian and U.S. folk music traditions.

The band’s members are Kerri Brown, Barbara Denz, David Denz, and Paul Gitlitz.

The evening will include the ever-popular charity raffle, and we’ll also have the usual dessert feast.

Tickets are $20, which includes the refreshments.

All the money raised goes directly to the performers. Please give us a ring at 250-337-5337 if you’d like to reserve tickets.

Being a concert in a private home, seating will be limited.
