Smooth sounds with Island Voices

Island Voices Chamber Choir is in its last week of rehearsals and excitement is building with the realization that the songs really are approaching perfection. Even the string quartet which accompanies the choir and plays some numbers on its own will be worth the price of the ticket alone.

Have you ever noticed how as a concert date approaches, sometimes things just fall into place?

Island Voices Chamber Choir is in its last week of rehearsals and excitement is building with the realization that the songs really are approaching perfection. Even the string quartet which accompanies the choir and plays some numbers on its own will be worth the price of the ticket alone.

Island Voices is an a cappella chamber choir which has been pleasing audiences since 1997. This weekend, the choir will sing selections from eight countries in at least six languages.

As with all Island Voices concerts, By Special Request will excite and impress you with its musical diversity. From love songs to witches’ chants, this program has something for everyone and will offer a wide variety of styles including jazz, classical, popular, Shakespearean, Canadian, folk and even a Lennon and McCartney song.

You are invited to come and enjoy this program of family favourites, By Special Request, this Friday at 8 p.m. at Comox United Church.

Tickets are available at Laughing Oyster Book Shop and Videos ’n’ More.
