All Lizzie wants is to be invisible.
The fourth grader doesn’t fit in and her one-time best friend ignores her. So she sits very still in class, hoping her classmates won’t know she’s there, despite being the tallest kid in her school.
But all that practising at being invisible is thwarted one day, right in the middle of gym class, when she lets out the loudest, most gigantic sneeze – a sneeze so loud and so big that it comes to life.
The Big Sneeze is an hour-long children’s play by Axis Theatre Company, part of TheatreOne’s Just Kidding series, at Malaspina Theatre Feb. 5 at 1 p.m.
The Big Sneeze follows the adventures of Lizzy, aided by her VOS – Very Own Sneeze – as she navigates the hallways of her grade school life, in all its challenges, learning that she’s not quite as different from her peers as she thinks.
Dealing with issues of self-esteem and peer relationships, The Big Sneeze is a journey of self-discovery and acceptance.
Tickets are $14. Buy the next play in the series, Old Thomas and the Little Fairy at the Port Theatre April 3, for $26; $24/children; $80/family of four.
