So you think you can direct?

Budding directors have until Sept. 9 to apply for the last director spot in Surrey Little Theatre's upcoming play.

Surrey Little Theatre (SLT) is looking for a volunteer to fill the final director’s spot in the upcoming comedy, A Funny Little Thing Called Love by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten.

This full length play has several scenes that are each a play on their own, featuring the common elements of a full moon and love.

Helen Embury, an award winning community theatre director, will mentor the four new directors during this new initiative.

Three of the spots have already been filled by budding directors Ken Boyd of Langley, Patricia Braun of Abbotsford and Brad Duncan of Surrey to the team.

There’s just one final scene up for grabs.

Those interested can contact production manager Brigitte Seib at brigitte.seib@surreylittletheatre.com.

Submission deadline is Sept. 9 at midnight.

And for those wanting to learn more about what goes on behind the scenes, the SLT has spots available. Mentors will be put in place for the design team, hair and makeup and stage management.

Candidates are also welcome to join the SLT during their annual general meeting on Sept. 9 to meet members and get involved.

The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a social, followed by the meeting at 7:30 p.m. Address is 7027 184 St. in Surrey.

Auditions for roles in the play will take place October 26 and 27 at 7 p.m.

The show runs January 28 to February 27, 2016.
