Kellen Saip and Del Suelo will be playing Tractorgrease Cafe Thursday, March 30 at 7 p.m.
Saip is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter from Ladner, B.C., who recently moved to Chilliwack.
His music gently fuses folk and blues with subtle undertones of faith and soul that derived from his family gospel roots. His old soul, but forever young mentality, helps explore a melodic guitar sound mixed with organically adapting vocals.
His lyrics and vocals together deliver an intimate experience that can one minute be sweet and silky like a fine wine and the next raspy and strong that hits you harder than a cheap shot of whiskey.
His songs tell of a journey of heartache, bliss, love lost and love gained that can be relatable to all hearts that are still beating.
Del Suelo is a Saskatchewan based artist that makes art combining writing and music. In 2016 he released a 10 chapter/10 song combination project titled I Am Free which received an honourable mention at the Tidewater Independent Book Awards and is also being translated into German.
Musically, he performs genre-bending, soul-driven tunes that serve as a soundtrack to the novels he writes. The music is rich in emotion, varying from fun to serious. The music blends rock-pop catchiness with anything from funk to punk, steeped in the jazz tradition of improvisation and spontaneity.
