Do you sing? Did you used to sing and have been wondering what to do about filling that hole in your life? Do you ever think that you might like to sing for your community?
These are some of the questions the singers in the Sooke Community Choir asked themselves before they joined.
Now almost 60 of these singers enjoy sharing music with each other and the community.
Here’s what the Sooke Community Choir is up to this season.
In December it will host a free Christmas Kickoff of Christmas Carols with a sing-along at Sooke Community Hall on Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. The following weekend (Dec. 11, 12, 13) it will perform three concerts entitled Songs for a Winter’s Night.
The choir hosts its first practice on Sept. 9 at the Prestige Hotel (downstairs). Singing begins at 7 p.m. The choir is conducted by Bruce Ruddell and accompanied by Kathy Russell.
