Two experienced musicians who both became involved in music at four years of age are performing a program of European and English music at The Old School House arts centre in Qualicum Beach this Sunday — including sonatas which have yet to be performed in Canada.
Finnish violinist Lotta Lundsten has been part of orchestral training programs, summer festivals and concert tours which have taken her across Scandinavia, Central Europe and the United States. She’s been a member of the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra and a freelance violinist for the past couple of years.
Canadian-born pianist Matthew Poon resides in Victoria and has won many awards over the years at the Victoria Performing Arts Festival and is currently arranging and composing music for the Victoria Chinese Alliance Church English Choir, an ensemble he spearheaded in 2008.
The duo will perform June 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is $16.
