Spooktacular returns to Haney Heritage Park

It’s that time of the year to pull out your spooky costumes and come and explore the eerie side of R.J. Haney Heritage Village and Museum

Boo… we’re back.

It’s that time of the year to pull out your spooky costumes and come and explore the eerie side of R.J. Haney Heritage Village and Museum, located at 751 Highway 97B, for the 21st annual Spooktacular,  Oct. 22 and 23.

Gate admission is $8 per person.

The event opens at 5 p.m. for this family fun haunting event.

As dusk falls on the village, strange shadows and ghostly figures appear as the spell-casting magic commences.

Brave children and the faint hearted can wander the not-so-scary Broomstick Path full of rhymes, fairy-tale stories and treats.

You don’t want to miss the haunting and ghastly stories in Mt. Ida Church which has been supernaturally transformed for Tales from the Crypt.

Local storytellers will spook you senseless with mysterious and blood curdling tales for the little and big goblins.

If you stray too far from the village you will wander upon the cadaver cemetery. You have been warned – watch out for the Grim Reaper, skeletons, witches and other frightening ghouls. One never knows what super natural spirits or apparitions will appear.

Wondering what your future holds?

A visit to the Mystical Fortune Teller may answer all your secrets, predict your future or call the spirits.

If you are feeling a bit under the weather, an appointment with the Menacing Mad Scientist and a diagnosis in his electric chair is sure to make you scream.

For your amusement you can test your skills at games of chance at the Hocus Pocus Midway. And to remember Spooktacular, visit the Felts photo booth to have your picture take for $5.

When you’re ready for a break from all the horrifying thrills, enjoy hot dogs, hot chocolate, popcorn and mini donuts by the fire.

You can always rest your brooms and visit the RIP Coloring Room and have your face painted, make a fun Haney craft or colour a picture to take home.

You never know what you might unearth at Spooktacular.

Mark the 21st Spooktacular on your calendar. For more information call 250-832-5243, visit our website www.salmonarmmuseum.org or find us on facebook.com/Haneyheritage. Ghouls and ghosts under 16 must be accompanied by an adult over 19.
