WOW

Wednesday on the Wharf features funk/rock/pop band Aurora Jane at 6:45 tonight at the gazebo in Marine Park.  Admission is by donation. Next  week it’s the Mark Rose Big Band (big band, jazz, swing, Latin). Performances start at 6:45 p.m. Take a blanket or lawn chair. Admission is by donation.

 

 

Villains and Vittles

R.J. Haney Heritage Village’s 2011 Villains and Vittles dinner theatre presents The Mystery of Dutch Charlie Wednesday/Friday/Sunday evenings to Aug. 26. Written by Peter Blacklock, this Salmon Arm story is set in 1885. Dinner is provided in Marjorie’s Tea Room.  Tickets are $24 for adults, $14 for children. Reservations are a must, call 250-832-5243.

 

 

Natural high

Plaza vibes

Weather permitting, catch Runaway Lane from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, July 8 on the Lunch Box Stage at the Ross Street Plaza. Take your lunch or pick up a lunch box special at a participating downtown eatery. At  6 p.m. Live at the Lot features the ear grabbing, toe tapping, pulse pounding tunes of Modern Folk. This talented Vernon quintet have opened for Great Big Sea and Buddy Guy.

 

 

Ready to ramble

Local singer-songwriter Jeanette Grittani is moving to Baja, Mexico where she has become a popular performer in the Los Cabos area.  Before heading south, she will share some  Mexican musical charm from 5:30 to 8:30 Friday, July 8, at Cantina Vallarta on Hudson Avenue.

 

 

Flower show

The fifth annual Shuswap Garden Club flower show will be held at the Mall at Piccadilly Saturday, July 9. Enter flowers, arrangements, grasses, roses and photography. Reading Club

The Okanagan Regional Library reading club presents Science Centre Tuesday, July 12 at 1 and 2:30 p.m. at the Salmon Arm branch. Use simple machines (levers, pulleys, wheels, inclined planes) to accomplish a challenge and solve a problem. Register by calling  250-832-6161.
