Storybook Adventures promises to spark the imagination at its interactive fantasy-themed location in Bridal Falls. Fairies, pirates, mermaids, princesses and medieval dragons are par for the course as kids of all ages traverse a myriad of thought-provoking and fun-filled games and rides while interacting with authentic characters from the genre.
Savard got the idea after doing a similar venture this past Halloween that was successful and decided that she wanted to do a character theme style attraction for the summer in the same location at Bridal Falls.

Savard expanded her idea after the closing down of the BC Renaissance Fair by Times Past Entertainment.
Savard worked at the fair every year and often as a pirate. “I fell in love with the fair and when I heard that BC Renaissance Fair was closing down it was sad for a lot of us because it was something that we looked forward to every year to nurture our creative sides,” said Savard. “My daughter grew up with the Renaissance Fair and I have pictures of her at all the fairs and the parades.”
Savard got the rights to the Renaissance Fair and with a little imagination created Storybook Adventures as a sort of spin-off of the longtime attraction. Bridal Falls was a favourite camping location for the Chilliwack-based entertainer and she chose the spot after driving past the empty building repetitively until she finally got the courage to ask what was being done with the building.
Savard asked the owner to give her a chance when she started with the Halloween attraction The Haunting in 2016 and he agreed to give Savard a shot based on her passion and commitment to the project. After the success of The Haunting, Savard came back to the owner with Storybook Adventures.
Storybook Adventures captures the imagination with its 5,000 square foot medieval style fantasy land that suspends reality by inviting guests to board a pirate ship, interact with a live talking parrot, experience the woodedn stock, try on fairy costumes as well as talk to a live mermaid, the Queen of Hearts, and several other charming characters who are on display throughout the space.
There is a medieval merry go round that guests can enjoy as well as a host of medieval games that include flinging rats from a slingshot type of apparatus.”Every area in the building has a different type of theme so there will be a Mermaid area and a Fairy Cottage and that’s where we have handcrafted crowns and wands and pirate stuff for sale. In the game area kids can win coins which they can trade in at cottage for a treasure box. We’re all about having fun and being creative,” said Savard.
“Everything is on hand, it’s interactive with live characters — that’s the experience you’re going to get.” The unique set up allows for the one one one experience of being with a character and all the rides are man-powered allowing for guests to experience how medieval people entertained themselves back in the day.
“The idea is to get people thinking along the lines of: How did medieval people entertain their kids, how did they build swings? Even the games are meant to be replicas of what would have been used historically,” said Savard.
Rides at the attraction include The Pirate Swing and a Merry-go-Round as well as a host of clever and fantasy inspired exhibits throughout the space. Play games and enjoy the man powered rides in air conditioning.
