Presented by Chilliwack Community Arts Council, ArtWalk will lead up to the Garrison Village Festival on Aug. 26, and throughout the week, visitors and residents alike will enjoy a vibrant selection of artwork on display.

With a goal of partnering our local business and art communities, artists and retailers will join in showcasing the impressive talent found in our city.

Photographer, Garth White, is a lifelong British Columbian and strong supporter of environmental conservation programs and wildlife organizations. His passion for nature and our picturesque province is translated through his work’s focus on pastoral vistas, and local landmarks. White’s photography will be on display inside Envision Financial’s Garrison Crossing branch.

Kelly McQuhae of Pottery by Kelly grew up in the wilds of Vancouver Island and found inspiration from the natural world at a young age. Primarily stoneware and porcelain items crafted in her home studio, McQuhae’s pottery pieces are both functional and artistic, brimming with whimsical character dressed in pleasing colours. McQuhae’s pottery will be on display inside Sticky’s Candy Garrison.

One of British Columbia’s best representational wildlife painters, Laura Levitsky, has been recognized by both provincial and national wildlife organizations for her spectacular depictions of the natural world. Her meticulous attention to detail and methodically researched subject matter enhance Levitsky’s tranquil compositions. Levitsky’s paintings will be on display inside Garrison Pharmacy.

A fellow artist with an affinity for animals and nature, Dara Kim Sherlock of Kimmikat Kreative, draws on her years immersed in the picturesque surroundings of Harrison Hot Springs. Sherlock’s watercolour, pen-and-ink illustrations feature charismatic creature portraits rendered in bold expressive lines that beckon to be coloured in with her palette of rich colour tones. Sherlock’s illustrations will be on display inside Ambience Salon.

Shaun Monty of Westcoast on Wood draws his inspiration from the landscapes and wilderness he has experienced both at home in Chilliwack and from his travels around the world. Primarily working on reclaimed wood, Monty’s love of the outdoors translates through both the subjects of his artwork as well as his chosen medium. Monty’s upcycled wood art will be on display inside Studio B Yoga.
