The Studio 2 Studio self-guided tour of the 108 Mile Ranch was a great event for the eight artists, the visitors and the South Cariboo Health Foundation (SCHF).
The tour was set up to showcase the creative skills of eight who live at the 108 Mile Ranch on Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Finding the locations was easy, as the artists had set up signage at their homes. The reception from each artist was great and very informative, and each one was willing to answer any questions concerning their particular skills.
Twenty-five per cent of the artists’ sales and any donations went to the SCHF.
SCHF fundraising co-ordinator M-J Cousins says the event was a huge success.
“Feedback from both the artists and the people who attended was very positive. It was a wonderful day.”
Noting there were 30-40 visitors at most of the studios, she adds the foundation made close to $400 for the purchase of hospital equipment.
“If the board wants to do it again next year, the artists were certainly keen and our guests just loved it. We’re looking at keeping it going. It was our first and, hopefully, there will be a second.”
Cousin says the SCHF is dedicated to supporting the delivery of health care in the South Cariboo.
