If you have a child who is aged seven to12 and you are wondering what they can do this summer, we invite them to join us in our summer art programs.

Camps run every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., for ages seven to nine, and from 1-3:30 p.m. for ages 10-12.

These summer art programs promise a creative outlet children need and enjoy.

Next week’s camp theme is Around the World. Our new summer student programmers, Payden and Emma, have planned fun activities that integrate art with learning.

Check out the full summer lineup on our Facebook page; http://www.facebook.com/rollinartcentre. Weekly camps are only $40.

This program aims to educate and excite youth and teens in the art of creative writing.

Current exhibit

The current art exhibit begins July 7 and runs until July 29 and is another wonderful exhibit featuring animal portrait pencil artist, Don Bergen.

“My love of animals has become my main drawing theme,” Bergen said.

If you have a love for animals, you will enjoy this showcase of artwork of all types of amazing animals.

Join us in the gallery Saturday, July 9 from 1-3 p.m. and meet Don, who will be having a special draw for a free 8” X 10” pencil drawing portrait of your own pet.

“In keeping with the generosity of our community with a heart for giving to charities, I will be donating 10 per cent of any sales of the last week of my show to the S.P.C.A.  I’m hoping this will assist in feeding some of our unwanted animals.  I hope this will help in some small way,” Bergen said.

Terrace teas

Next week kicks off our first summer Teas on the Terrace at the Rollin Art Centre.

You won’t want to miss our first special guest musicians, The Folk Song Circle,  regular performers at our teas and a guaranteed musical treat.

Tickets are still available but seating is limited and will sell out quickly.

Join us in the garden when we bring you a wonderful lineup of local musicians for the remainder of our teas with Old Time Fiddlers on July 28, Glen Mofford on Aug. 11 and to close out the summer, Paul Kurucz – The Travelers on Aug. 25.

Please purchase your tickets today and help support the Rollin Art Centre with our summer fundraiser. Tickets are $20 for each tea or $75 if you purchase for all four teas.
