He’s got the old-fashioned spirit of Christmas and he’s bringing it to Revelstoke.

The world may have changed but popular Vancouver Island tenor Ken Lavigne brings back the simple joy of Christmas in his revamped, second annual, Ken Lavigne’s Christmas Musical Roadshow.

Lavigne and his crew will perform at the Revelstoke Performing Arts Centre on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 7.30 p.m. The stage will be dressed as an old-time studio, a throwback to the golden age of live radio. The sounds of radio drama and sound effects entwine for a special Christmas-time story.

“It’s entertainment, sharing stories and the Christmas spirit — which is all about joy,” Lavigne says.

Lavigne has charmed his way into the hearts of audiences across North America with his enchanting shows and classical tenor sound. He was a founding member of the Canadian Tenors and he founded the tenor trio Romanza, who performed in Revelstoke.

He has toured and recorded solo since 2008, performed at the historic Carnegie Hall in New York City, and worked extensively with famed producer David Foster.

A lifelong fan of the festive season, Lavigne is a talented entertainer who can be counted on to showcase Christmas favourites, ballads, show tunes and classical crossover hits, as well as telling funny and touching seasonal tales.

“I think I know my audience pretty well now and know what they are going to like,” Lavigne says. “The beloved classics such as White Christmas and Deck The Halls will be well represented. Blue Christmas may make an appearance as well.”

The Ken Lavigne Christmas Roadshow will play at the Revelstoke Performing Arts Centre on Sunday Dec. 11, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 for adults and $15 for students. They are available in advance at the Visitor Information Centre, Art First, and the Revelstoke Arts Council website.
