Concerts

April 28 — Kym Gouchie hosts a CD release concert with guest Shayna Desjarlais at the RiversideConferennce Centre, 152 Riverside Dr. Tickets available in advance at The Dragons Den, ClassicGuitars and the Saint-Germaine Café. Tickets $25.

April 28 — Singer/songwriter Joshua Smith plays the Dream Café. Premium tickets $22, wing seating $12.

April 29 and 30 – Penticton Tune-Agers choir and orchestra present This Land of Ours at the Shatford Centre 760 Main St., 2 p.m. both days. Tickets $15, at Shatford Centre, from Tune-Agers, at the Beanery in Summerland and at the door.

April 29 — Maple Blues Awards nominee, guitarist and singer/songwriter Arsen Shomakhov comes to the Dream Café. Premium tickets $33, wing seating $18.

May 5 — Latin dance band Mazacote celebrate Cinco De Mayo at the Dream Café with festive food and drink specials. Tickets $47 for premium seating, $32 for wing seating.

May 6 — Tavis Weir and Friends perform at the Dream Café. Tickets are $22 for premium seats, $12 for wing seating.

May 10 — Don Alder in concert at the Nest and Nectar. Tickets $45 plus GST ($40 for seniors).

May 12 — Delhi 2 Dublin play the Mule Concert House. Advance tickets are $15 at The Mule, The Grooveyard, Mosaic Books and www.ticketweb.ca.

May 12 — Masterworks Ensemble present Sweet Bird, an evening of bird and nature-inspired music at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1370 Church St. Tickets $30 and $25 for seniors/youth on sale at The Book Shop and the Leir House.

May 14 — Canadian songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Corwin Fox hosts a CD release at the Penticton Art Gallery.

Events

Until April 29 — Many Hats Theatre presents Self-Help by Dummiez opening April 6 and runninguntil April 29. Performances Thursdays, Fridays at Saturdays at 8 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 2p.m. Tickets at The Nest and Nectar.

April 29 — The Penticton Art Gallery hosts a panel discussion on cannabis and legality featuring city councillors Tarik Sayeed and Helena Konanz, Kevin Adams, owner of Okanagan Cannabanoid Therapy and barrister and solicitor in B.C. Robert Laurie.

April 29 — Forbidden Fruit are teaming up with Forbidden Fruit Winery and Mile Zero Wine bar for a night of live modeling and burlesque performance. Tickets $12 in advance at Mile Zero and $15 at the door. This event is 19-plus.

April 29 — South Okanagan Similkameen Pride are hosting a Spring Fling at the Buffehead with dinner, a drag show, motivational speakers and door prizes. Tickets $40 for members and $45 for non-members.

May 4 — Burgers and Bollywood at Burger 55 featuring Get Bent Bellydancers, music and food. Performance at 6 p.m.

May 5 to 26 — New Beginnings art show starts at the Leir House, 220 Manor Park Ave, open Tuesdays to Fridays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

May 10 — Paint Nite at Cannery Brewing paints for a good cause with a protion of tickets going to the Pathways Addiction Resource Centre. Tickets $45.

May 20 — The Medival Faire comes to 3800 Golf Course Dr. in Osoyoos.
