June 6 — The Lion the Bear and the Fox at the Dream Café with a live show best described as a harmony-filled evening from a trio with over three decades combined experience.
June 6 — The Celebration Singers present Babes Hit Hollywood! from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Shatford Centre. Featuring music from movies such as Pitch Perfect, Saturday Night Fever, Dreamgirls, Dirty Dancing and Slumdog Millionaire. Tickets are available at the Shatford Centre or eventbrite.ca. June 11 — Indie rock band Aztec is coming to Penticton to play the Elite Restaurant.

June 12 — The Dream Café presents blues-based singer songwriter Tim Williams, a 40 year veteran of the roots music scene stretching back to the coffee-house scene of his native California in the mid ‘60s.
June 12 — South Okanagan Concert Society has flex-tickets for the upcoming season now on sale, including Locarno on Oct. 23, the Daniel Gervais Trio on Dec. 4, Capilano University Singers on Feb. 5, Wolak and Donnelly Duo on March 18. All concerts are at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at Beyond Bliss in Oliver and Imperial Office in Osoyoos.

June 5 — First Fridays open microphone night at 7:30 p.m. in the Penticton Art Gallery. The theme for June is World Environment Day: Celebrating the Beauty of Our World and the Gifts of Summer. All ages welcome and free admission. Tea, coffee and snacks will be available by donation.
June 6 — Artist’s talk and tour at 1 p.m. in the Penticton Art Gallery with Bethany Handfield discussing her current exhibition, Bee Alchemy and the Resurrection of Dreaming. Free admission, donations welcome.
June 6 — The Penticton Fire Fighters challenge you to prove your strength in Penticton’s first-ever Fire Truck Pull for Muscular Dystrophy at 9 a.m. on June 6 at the Community Market, 300 Main St. Teams of eight can enter to pull a fire truck (weighing 25,000-50,000 pounds) in a race to the finish line.
June 6 — Gotta Dance from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Frank Venables Theatre in Oliver is a special dance fundraiser for the Okanagan Dance Studio’s Show Group, providing young dancers with training, cultural and educational experiences at home and abroad. The evening will feature solo and duo performances by talented young dancers along with selections from musical theatre. A silent auction, wine tasting and refreshments will also be available. Tickets can be purchased in Oliver at Beyond Bliss, Burrowing Owl Winery and SOSS and in Penticton at the Okanagan Dance Studio.
June 7 — The Penticton Academy of Music presents its year-end concert, featuring the Academy String Orchestra, musical theatre classes and solo performances at 1:30 p.m. at St. Saviour’s Anglican Church, 150 Orchard Ave. All are welcome, admission is by donation in support of the student bursary fund.
June 11 — Oliver’s Grandmothers for Africa present the Thursday Night Jazz Band at 7 p.m. at the Quail’s Nest on Airport Road, Oliver. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students at the door. All proceeds go to the Stephen Lewis Foundation for programs to help African grandmothers raise grandkids orphaned by the AIDS pandemic. Bring a chair and join us for some upbeat music for a great cause.
June 13, 14 — Stan Thompson Memorial Rodeo at the Princeton Exhibition Grounds, 315 Laurie Currie Way. Rodeo begins at 1:30 p.m., daily featuring the Cariboo Cowgirls special events drill team, clown Jayson Charters, half-time kids games and more. On Saturday night join us for the rodeo dance and the second annual Best Butt in Blue Jeans Contest. June 20, 21 — Oliver’s Dance Studio presents A Night at the Movies in Frank Venables Theatre at 6 p.m. on June 20, with a 2 p.m. matinee on June 21. An end-of-year show filled with all types of dance and music. Great for the whole family. Come and enjoy a weekend of performances with Oliver’s young dancers. Tickets $20 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under, on sale June 1 at the Dance Studio.
June 27 — Come out to celebrate the food, music, and culture of Mexico at Flamenco Fusion Mexican Flair. There will be dinner, local wines, dancing, and music, starting at 6 p.m. at the Shatford Centre. The evening will feature Mexican flamenco-fusion duo El Javi on their first Canadian tour. Tickets are $40, available at the Shatford Centre, Therapy Vineyards in Naramata and Sonoran Estate Winery in Summerland.
