May 15 — The Dream Café presents Angel Forrest, Maple Blues Female Vocalist of the Year, performing with Denis Coulombe and Paul Deslauriers.

May 15 — South Okanagan Concert Society has flex-tickets for the upcoming season now on sale, including Locarno on Oct. 23, the Daniel Gervais Trio on Dec. 4, Capilano University Singers on Feb. 5, Wolak and Donnelly Duo on March 18. All concerts are at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at Beyond Bliss in Oliver and Imperial Office in Osoyoos.

May 16 — Kettle Valley Brakemen at the Penticton Museum auditorium at 2 p.m. After the show, browse through the ongoing exhibit, A Very Canadian Railroad: The Story of the Kettle Valley Railway.

May 16 — The Burn Ins, regional champions in CBC radio’s 2015 Searchlight contest, are playing the Elite at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door.

June 1 — Canadian fiddler Scott Woods brings his Fiddling in the key of…eh? show to the Shatford Centre from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for children six to12, free for children under five.

June 4 — Classic Vancouver punk band DOA is coming to The Elite with Special guests the Hippiecritz.

May 15 — Two new exhibitions at the Penticton Art Gallery: Bethany Handfield, official 2015 Meadowlark artist; plus featured art from three local high schools, Penticton Secondary, Princess Margaret and Summerland Secondary.

May 16 — RedBull Kickoff to Summer patio party at the Barking Parrot starting at 1 p.m. Saturday.

May 23 — Artist’s talk and tour at 1 p.m. in the Penticton Art Gallery with Bethany Handfield discussing her current exhibition, Bee Alchemy and the Resurrection of Dreaming. Free admission, donations welcome.

May 23 — JCI Penticton’s third annual Murder Mystery from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Shatford Centre. Lights! Camera! MURDER! Come on out for this unique, fun, interactive experience while supporting JCI Penticton. Tickets include dinner by Chef Derrie Selles, snacks throughout the evening, music and a dance floor. May 30, 31 — Summerland Pleasure Painters will have an art show and sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the St. Stevens Anglican Church Hall, 9311 Prairie Valley Rd., Summerland, including fundraiser table to support the Penticton Regional Hospital expansion project.

June 2, 3, 4 — The Cawston Players present God of Carnage, a black comedy by Yasmine Reza translated by Christopher Hampton at 7 p.m. in the Shatford Centre. Advance tickets are available: $15 at Dragon’s Den on Front Street, the Shatford Centre, and some at the door.

June 6 — Gotta Dance from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Frank Venables Theatre in Oliver is a special dance fundraiser for the Okanagan Dance Studio’s Show Group, providing young dancers with training, cultural and educational experiences at home and abroad. The evening will feature solo and duo performances by talented young dancers along with selections from musical theatre. A silent auction, wine tasting and refreshments will also be available. Tickets can be purchased in Oliver at Beyond Bliss, Burrowing Owl Winery and SOSS and in Penticton at the Okanagan Dance Studio.

June 13, 14 — Stan Thompson Memorial Rodeo at the Princeton Exhibition Grounds, 315 Laurie Currie Way. Rodeo begins at 1:30 p.m., daily featuring the Cariboo Cowgirls special events drill team, clown Jayson Charters, half-time kids games and more. On Saturday night join us for the rodeo dance and the second annual Best Butt in Blue Jeans Contest. June 20, 21 — Oliver’s Dance Studio presents A Night at the Movies in Frank Venables Theatre at 6 p.m. on June 20, with a 2 p.m. matinee on June 21. A end-of-year show filled with all types of dance and music. Great for the whole family. Come and enjoy a weekend of performances with Oliver’s young dancers. Tickets $20 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under, on sale June 1 at the Dance Studio.
