May 30 — A Celebration of Life for former South Okanagan artist and muralist, Frances Hatfield, who passed away Dec. 28, 2014, will be held 1 p.m. at the Armstrong/Spallumcheen Art Gallery. A collection of her paintings will be displayed for the celebration. For more information, call 250-546-8318.
May 28, 29, 30 — The Shatford Players present their first production, Cake-Walk, from Canadian playwright Colleen Curran. Performances each night in the Shatford Centre Auditorium at 7 p.m. along with a Saturday matinee at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 and are available at the Shatford Centre and The Dragon’s Den in Penticton as well as SASS on Main Street in Summerland.
May 30, 31 — Summerland Pleasure Painters will have an art show and sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the St. Stevens Anglican Church Hall, 9311 Prairie Valley Rd., Summerland, including fundraiser table to support the Penticton Regional Hospital expansion project.
June 2, 3, 4 — The Cawston Players present God of Carnage, a black comedy by Yasmine Reza translated by Christopher Hampton at 7 p.m. in the Shatford Centre. Advance tickets are available: $15 at Dragon’s Den on Front Street, the Shatford Centre, and some at the door.

June 6 — Gotta Dance from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Frank Venables Theatre in Oliver is a special dance fundraiser for the Okanagan Dance Studio’s Show Group, providing young dancers with training, cultural and educational experiences at home and abroad. The evening will feature solo and duo performances by talented young dancers along with selections from musical theatre. A silent auction, wine tasting and refreshments will also be available. There will be dinner, local wines, dancing, and music, starting at 6 p.m. at the Shatford Centre. The evening will feature Mexican flamenco-fusion duo El Javi on their first Canadian tour.
