Concerts

Dec. 16 — Messiah, a Christmas special by the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra, visits Penticton at the Cleland Community Theatre.

Dec. 17 and 18 — Anthem: A Leonard Cohen Tribute takes place at the Cleland Community Theatre.

Dec. 18 — A jazzy Christmas with friends at St. Saviour’s Anglican Church at 4:30 p.m. Freewill offering.

Dec. 18 — Justin Koshman brings some tunes to Cannery Brewing Co. No cover charge. Music from 6 to 8 p.m.

Dec. 18 — A Christmas canata that will be presented by the choir at Our Redeemer Luthern Church here in Penticton at the Christmas Concert Sevice at 10 a.m.

Dec. 26 and 27 — Gary Comeau and the VooDoo Allstars return to the Dream Café for two nights. Show ticket $40, dinner and a show $80. Doors at 6 p.m. show at 8 p.m.

Dec. 28 — Home For the Holidays, a concert of classical love songs starts at the Summerland United Church at 7 p.m.

Jan. 8 — Miles Kereluk plays Cannery Brewing Co. from 6 to 8 p.m. No cover charge.

Jan. 15 — Jeremy Head plays Cannery Brewing Co. from 6 to 8 p.m. No cover charge.

Jan. 21 — Join the Penticton Scottish Festival Society for an evening in celebration of Robbie Burns at the Copper Mug Pub. Tickets $30.

Feb. 1 to 4 — Ben Waters, one of the U.K.’s supreme boogie woogie piano players, sticks around the Dream Café for four days. Tickets $55 for premium seating, $40 for side seating.

Dec. 17 — Cannery Christmas Market at the Cannery Trade Centre featuring arts and crafts, vintage vendors and more.

Dec. 17 — Rockin’ with Santa in Osoyoos at the Sun Bowl Arena. Free admission. Games, crafts and turkey dinner raffles. Bring skates and a helmet, no hockey sticks permitted.

Until Dec. 21 — The seventh annual exibition by artist friends of George Traicheff at the Leir House Arts Centre.

Until Dec. 24 — The Under 500 Annual Chistmas Exhibition and Sale, an unjuried exhibition of over 250 works all priced at $500 at the Penticton Art Gallery.

Dec. 31 — New Year’s Eve party at Naramata Pub. Live entertainment and classic rock speicalists TR2. Advance tickets $20 and include party favors, appies and a midnight toast.

Dec. 31 — A New Start New Year’s Eve party takes place at the Penticton Art Gallery. Live music by Yanti and Co. and tunes by DJ Tenacious T. Tickets $35.

Dec. 31 — The Elite helps ring in 2017 with a cabaret carnival with games, magic, intrigue and oddities presented by Tiger Alley. Tickets $30.

Dec. 31 — Starting at 8 p.m. Bar One at the Sandman Hotel in Penticton turns into prom night for the New Year’s Eve Prom Party. Tickets $40 and include a drink.

Dec. 31 — Rock in the New Year at the Penticton Curling Club with a 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. happy hour with appies and live entertainment. Champagne and appies at midnight. Tickets available at the Penticton Curling Club.

Until Jan. 15 — Toni Onley: A Landscape Defined at the Penticton Art Gallery. The largest collection of Onley’s work, many of which are dated as early as the 1960s. Tuesdays to Fridays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission $2, free for gallery members, and free for all on weekends.
