Residents are encouraged to break out their bell bottoms, big hair, Indian cotton tunics, polyester leisure suits and plaid pants for a rocking ‘70s concert this weekend.

That ‘70s Band from Victoria will be groovin’ up The Lighthouse Community Centre in Qualicum Bay with blast from the past tunes.

There will be prizes for best costume and spot dances, and  late night snacks will be provided.

The Bow-Horne-Bay Community Club is putting on the event to raise funds for their annual Fall Fair and to provide scholarships for Kwalicum Secondary School students.

The dance happens this Saturday, May 28 at 280 Lions Way in Qualicum Bay. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the music starts at 8, running until midnight.

Tickets to this adult-only event are $20, available from Cranky Dog Music in Parksville, Mulberry Bush Bookstore in Qualicum Beach and Eyes on BC and Things and Stuff Old and New, both in Bowser.
