The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug advance tickets available

Advance tickets for the highly anticipated release of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug are now available for purchase at select Cineplex Entertainment theatres and online at Cineplex.com.

Ticket purchasers can upgrade to a SuperTicket™, which includes an admission ticket, 400 bonus SCENE points, a free standard definition, UltraViolet™ copy of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and a pre-ordered UltraViolet copy of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. The pre-ordered digital version will be available to SuperTicket-holders weeks before the Blu-ray and DVD release date and four days prior to the digital release of the film. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be immediately available to stream or download through any UltraViolet service, including CineplexStore.com.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug SuperTicket will cost $19.99 for a standard definition pre-ordered digital download, or $24.99 for a high definition pre-ordered digital download, plus the cost of the theatrical admission ticket.

UltraViolet digital versions can be streamed and/or downloaded to your favourite internet connected devices (iOS, Android), including smartphones, tablets and computers, as well as internet connected Blu-ray players, TVs and game consoles.

Purchasing a SuperTicket is easy:

• Purchase a SuperTicket at Cineplex.com, a participating Cineplex theatre box office, or an automated ticketing kiosk. You can also purchase a SuperTicket using the Cineplex mobile app.

• Guests will receive two vouchers – one for theatre admission and the other containing a unique access code, which they can redeem for the UltraViolet™ digital version at SuperTicket.com.

• When the movie is available, it will be automatically added to the purchaser’s Cineplex Store locker – available at CineplexStore.com.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug opens Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, in most Cineplex theatres.
