Langley-based band, The Kwerks, are returning with their energy-packed tunes to Tractorgrease Cafe this Saturday.

The band, fronted by Laura and Ryan Koch, have made quite a splash in the Fraser Valley this summer with their original folk-pop music that has a twist of bluegrass. The music, written by Laura, is rhythmic and peppy, and gets the crowd moving every time. Infused with lyrics about love, loss, relationships and life itself, the music stands on its own as a fresh and unique offering to the listener.

On stage, the two banter back and forth and tell stories that gets the crowd laughing.

“There’s nothing quite like connecting with an audience with humour. It’s one of the best things about doing this kind of work,” says Laura.

While they’ve previously performed at Tractorgrease as a duo, they’ll be flanked by their full band this Saturday, and it’s sure to be a great night.

The pair released their debut EP in April of this year. The record kicks off with their crowd favourite, Freight Train, and it has received great feedback and reviews from an array of sources.

The Kwerks perform Saturday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. For tickets, call Tractorgrease Cafe at 604-858-3814 or email tractorgrease@gmail.com.
