Theory of a Deadman unplugs to grateful audience

Vancouver rock band brings its 15th anniversary tour to the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre.

There were no massive amps turned up to 11, just a band getting back to basics with some well placed candelabras to add to the mood lighting.

Celebrating 15 years as a band, Delta-bred rockers Theory of a Deadman unplugged their guitars and played their music acoustically to a grateful audience.

The band’s current tour, Unplugged 15, brought TOAD to Vernon Monday, with an almost sold-out house at the Performing Arts Centre.

The crowd was very vocal and engaged right from the beginning.

There was no opening act. The band jumped right into the night with big drums and acoustic guitars, and added a keyboard in the back to fill out the sounds, playing music from their five studio albums and a large selection of singles.

The sound was amazing right from the start.

Frontman Tyler Connolly spoke about the band’s history and shared stories from his past, with some jokes to keep it lively.

Vernon was TOAD’s second show of the new year, and the first acoustic tour ever for the band.
