The Struggle Between Good and Evil (Snow Queen) is among the creations of artist Angela Gooliaff, whose work will be exhibited at The Reach Gallery starting Nov. 24.

The Reach Gallery Museum Abbotsford hosts a free public reception on Thursday, Nov. 24 at 6 p.m. to open its final exhibitions for 2016.

Two exhibitions will showcase the work of up-and-coming artists from the region who are members of The Reach’s Emerge program.

The program supports professional development for artists from the ages of 18 to 35.

Curated by Emerge member Alisha Deddens, dis://connections explores the impacts of technology on our relationships to the land, each other, and ourselves. The exhibition includes works by Darby Arens, Carly Butler Verheyen, Mallory Donen, Julie Epp, Kendra Schellenberg, and Rachel Selinger.

In the Atrium Gallery, Art on Demand 2.4 features Emerge artists Chelsea Brown and Rachael Gingell.

Emerge Curator Chantal New brings Gingell’s minimal abstract paintings of seascapes together with the intentional compositions of Brown’s digital photography, presenting two different approaches to the representation of the sublime in nature.

The third exhibition, A Winter Colourland, is by Vancouver-based artist Angela Gooliaff.

Gooliaff’s project at The Reach has been transformed into an adult colouring book based on Greek mythology, historical legends from Japan and China, and stories from North American First Nations and the Saami people.

The Winter Colourland colouring book, sponsored in part by Globe Printers, will be available to the public for $15, with proceeds going to The Reach as part of their holiday fundraising efforts.

The three winter exhibitions will run from Nov. 24 to Jan. 8 at The Reach, 32388 Veterans Way.
