1. Tickets are sold out, so you’ll have to deal with a scalper for this one: The globe-trotting Scot known as Danny Bhoy returns to Surrey’s Bell Performing Arts Centre with “Commonwealth Comedian,” the show he’s been touring across Canada for the past few weeks. The “Just For Laughs” regular will perform at the Bell on Friday, Oct. 28, starting at 7:30 p.m.
2. Be a zombie for the day during Surrey’s “Thrill the World” event, when dancers move to the beat of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” song, just like in the iconic video. The annual event, part of a global thing, returns to Cloverdale Youth Park (6188 176th St.) on Saturday, Oct. 29. Show up at around 1 p.m. for a “Thriller Crash Course,” or get there for the official countdown at 2:45 p.m. and 3 p.m. dance time. Whatever you do, don’t forget to bring a $10 suggested donation for Surrey Food Bank. More event details are posted at Thrilltheworldsurrey.com.
3. Halloween meets Christmas during the “Santaween” pub-night fundraiser hosted by Surrey Christmas Bureau, on Saturday night (Oct. 29) at the Delta Lion Pub in North Delta. For the fee of $25, attendees can join in the “holly, jolly, spooky evening” event, which includes a pasta dinner, a costume contest, silent auction and more, from 5 to 9 p.m. For more details, visit Christmasbureau.com or call 604-690-8715.
