1. Animal “second chances” are celebrated during Surrey Museum’s annual Easter Fair, which has become a go-to event for local animal-welfare organizations. T&T Shar-pei Rescue, BC Exotic Bird Society, Surrey Animal Resource Centre and the Chihuahua Club of BC are some of the groups attending this year’s event, happening Saturday, March 26 (from 1 to 4 p.m.) at the facility, located at 17710 56A Ave., Cloverdale. Also, the Vancouver Rabbit Agility Club will show off their athletic bunnies at 2 and 3 p.m. in the museum’s plaza (weather permitting; see action video at Vancouverrabbitagilityclub.com). For more details, call 604-592-6956 or visit Surrey.ca/heritage.

2. It’s “March Madness” time for All Star Wrestling, which brings another round of bouts to Cloverdale’s Alice McKay building on Friday night (March 25). It all starts at 7:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds. For tickets and more info, call 604-710-0872 or visit Allstarwrestling.ca.

3. While attending Mount Temple Comprehensive School in Dublin, a history teacher named Donald Moxham became Stephen Fearing’s connection to the band U2. “He was instrumental in helping out a number of bands, including U2,” Fearing once told Canoe.com. “He would make sure they could get access to the music room and stuff like that.” Moxham encouraged Fearing to get into music, too, and the Vancouver-born artist did just that, on a folk-rock path. Next Thursday (March 31), Fearing will make his debut at White Rock’s Blue Frog Studios to perform songs from Between Hurricanes, his eighth studio album. Tickets for the show are $40 via the venue website, Bluefrogstudios.ca.
