1. Prolific author Ivan Coyote returns to Surrey with “Tomboy Survival Guide,” a musical storytelling adventure set to play the 200-seat Centre Stage at Surrey City Hall on Friday, March 10. Described as “part anthem, part campfire story,” the show is a collaboration featuring Coyote and the band of Alison Gorman (trumpet), Pebbles Willekes (bass guitar) and Sally Zori (drums). Together, they navigate “the narrow halls of public washrooms, skirt the threat of being picked to be a flower girl at their aunt’s wedding, triumph over tying a double Windsor knot, and discover the power and beauty in realizing they were handsome all along,” according to a bio.
