1. Hey kids! Finned characters Molly and Gil come to life in “Bubble Guppies Live,” a Nickelodeon/Koba Entertainment stage show starring the aquatic duo, from the hit CG-animated TV series. The touring production comes to Surrey’s Bell Performing Arts Centre on Saturday (Sept. 26) for a pair of show times, at 1 and 4 p.m. Expect lots of singing, dancing, comedy and audience participation; the script has The Bubble Guppies “getting ready to rock n’ roll with some totally fin-tastic tunes, but when a special band member goes missing, the show can’t go on.” Visit BubbleGuppiesOnTour.com.
2. A range of free activities Saturday (Sept. 26) at Surrey Arts Centre celebrate Canada’s sixth annual Culture Days, which runs from Friday to Sunday at a wide variety of venues. At Bear Creek Park, the action includes hip-hop dance workshops, Diwali-style diya painting, sari tying and mehndi, drop-in mosaic painting with Mandeep Wirk, and more. Elsewhere in Surrey, glassblower Robert Gary Parkes explains his craft at his Loafing Shed studio, and a “Welcome to City Centre Block Party” is set for Friday (Sept. 25) at Surrey City Centre Plaza from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. For more details, search Bc.culturedays.ca.
3. Along 137th Street in Newton, check out “Window Dressing: Cabinets of Curiosity,” an art exhibit installed in vacant storefront windows by the South Surrey-based Z-inc collective.
