“Wow’, and “it brings back such great memories” are two comments people frequently make about art they own, but which especially hold true about Dan Telosky’s paintings.

It’s like stepping into another world of rugged coastlines, fishing boats, majestic water and wilderness.

After many years of reproducing the stunning scenes of Vancouver Island, Telosky is needing to make room in his art studio for his next big adventure – painting the East Coast, this summer.

Here’s your chance to own a Telosky – an original painting or limited edition print for an unprecedented 25 per cent off the current price – an opportunity for those who love marine art and Vancouver Island’s wilderness.

This first time ever sale of Telosky’s art work is being held at Impressions Art Gallery & Framing, and runs from until Dec. 15, with an art social event on Saturday, Nov. 29.

Stop into Impressions – feast your eyes, stir your spirit, and treat yourself to a Telosky.

Dan Telosky:

Born and raised on Northern Vancouver Island, Dan worked early on, with pencil sketches of the tugs, small freighters and fishing boats passing his home on Discovery Passage. He later experimented with watercolours & oil paints, but prefers using acrylics, for his landscapes & seascapes,

His many years as a fishing guide, boom man & commercial fisherman, created a strong connection to the sea.  Working boats are his favorite subjects.  Dan finds that the many faces of the sea provide an endless challenge to try and capture.  The beauty and strength of the marine scenes of Vancouver Island are both varied and spectacular. “I can’t imagine living anywhere else.  I am fortunate to live in this wonderful place, and to have the ability to paint the scenes that I see regularly, is a bonus. “

Telosky is a director of the Marine Heritage Centre in Campbell River, a member of the International Society of Marine Painters, and an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, and CR Arts Council.

Telosky has participated in many festivals and shows on Vancouver Island including the Sidney Fine Arts Show (Honourable Mention), FCA Vancouver Landscapes and 365 (Award Winner), FCA Arrowsmith Spring and Fall Show (Award Winner), and Tidemark Theatre ‘3 Artists, 3 Mediums, One Show’.

His paintings reside as far away as Germany and Texas, but the bulk of his work is nearby, where he paints,  on Vancouver Island.
