Each year the Mission Arts Council starts off its exhibition calendar year with the Peggy Staber Memorial Exhibition.
This show honours the memory of Peggy Staber, who was a promoter of the visual and performing arts.
For more than 20 years she taught painting and drawing for Fraser Valley College and Mission Parks and Recreation.
Staber organized the first juried art show in the valley, which led to the annual provincial Festival of the Arts. She was the founding director and past president of the Mission Artists Association, as well as serving on the Mission Arts Council as a director, a president, and as its first executive director.
This show never disappoints, as it offers the public a look at some of the amazing talent living in Mission.
The show runs in the Rock Family Gallery at the Mission Arts Centre, 33529 First Ave. until Jan. 21.
