For Donny Edwards, it’s all about honouring the memory of Elvis Presley and keeping alive the extraordinary talent that reshaped popular music for all time.
Edwards is an internationally known performer whose tribute to the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll and the spark of the rock ‘n’ roll revolution has played to sold-out audiences around the world.
He’s portrayed the King in countless television appearances and documentaries and is the only tribute artist to ever perform on Elvis’ Memphis, Tennessee estate in Graceland. At that show, the state governor declared Edwards an honorary Tennessean.
Edwards has mastered the looks, moves and vocal intonations of the King, and when backed up by his group, the Cadillac Kings, delivers a performance that will leave audiences believing they’ve just travelled back to the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s to witness the “Memphis Flash” in all his glory.
Edwards’ B.C. tour lands in Victoria on Feb. 7 at the McPherson Playhouse. Information and tickets are available at rmts.bc.ca.
