Tribute to bring Orbison’s music to life

The Lonely — A Tribute to Roy Orbison will play the Tidemark Theatre May 30

The “Big O” was unmistakable with his trademark sunglasses, his distinctive, powerful voice, his complex compositions and the dark emotional ballads we all love.

From 1960 to 1964 Roy Orbison landed 22 songs on the Billboard Top 40, including Only The Lonely, Crying, and Oh, Pretty Woman. His impassioned voice, bridging the gap between baritone and tenor, coupled with his signature arrangements, ensured the charting of the hits “Dream Baby”, Ooby Dooby, Blue Angel, Blue Bayou, You Got It and In Dreams.

Tragically, Orbison’s life was cut short, leaving us only the music. And those hits and more will again ring out from the stage when Rock.It Boy Entertainment presents The Lonely — A Tribute to Roy Orbison Saturday, May 30, at the Tidemark Theatre.

Veteran Mike Demers leads this group of musical journeymen in their mutual and deep appreciation of the timeless music of the Caruso of Rock. The Lonely approaches the music with a humble spirit and sincere desire to recreate the sounds and feel of the original recordings.

Tickets are $37.50 (plus facility fees and service charges) and are available from the Tidemark Theatre Box Office. Charge by phone at 250-287-7465 or online at www.tidemarktheatre.com. Doors 7 p.m.; showtime 7:30 p.m.
