Victoria-based tribute band The Great Divide are bringing their version of The Band to the Duncan Showroom for a timely performance on Nov. 25.

Their Valley show will coincide with the 40th anniversary of the Canadian/American group’s legendary Last Waltz concert.

That event was held on American Thanksgiving Day in 1976 as The Band’s farewell concert appearance.

They were joined by many special guests that day, including Bob Dylan, Paul Butterfield, Neil Young, Emmylou Harris, Ringo Starr, Ronnie Hawkins, Dr. John, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Muddy Waters, Ronnie Wood, Neil Diamond, Bobby Charles, The Staple Singers, and Eric Clapton.

The musical director for the concert was the Band’s original record producer, John Simon.

The Great Divide perform the music of The Band from their careers with Bob Dylan, through Music From Big Pink and up to The Last Waltz.

They feature Aidan Miller on piano, Sean Thompson on drums, Chris Van Sickle on organ, Gord Light on bass, and Dylan Stone on guitar.

Tickets are $20 each at the door.
