Local MusicFest favourites Banana Fish Dance Orchestra will open for emerging local talent Valley May 14 at the Bridge Lounge.
Banana Fish Dance Orchestra is a nine-piece powerhouse groove sensation, with a four-piece horn section, a four-piece rhythm section, and a vocalist up front. All members are enrolled or have graduated from Vancouver Island University’s Bachelor of Jazz degree program.
The heavy indie trio that is Valley tells a story through dark ambience and infectious rhythms. Having shared the stage with acts such as Tokyo Police Club, Current Swell, and Daniel Wesley, Valley continues to perform all-original music along the West Coast of Canada.
Local artist Des Larson will also be taking the stage at 9:30 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased at 133 skate shop on Fifth Street in Courtenay, or at the door the night of the show. Doors open at 9 p.m. and the show starts at 10.
