Try a spring fling Céilidh in Notch Hill

If you have been searching for a new and fun way to get exercise, Notch Hill Hall is putting on the perfect event for you Saturday, April 13

If you have ever wanted to be part of a traditional Céilidh, or have been searching for a new and fun way to get in a bit of exercise, Notch Hill Hall is putting on the perfect event for you Saturday, April 13.

Whether you are a seasoned expert in the traditional Scottish dance, or have simply watched from afar, those at the Notch Hill Hall are inviting you  to join in an afternoon of fun, laughs and, of course, a whole lot of dancing at their Spring Fling Céilidh.

Céilidh, pronounced “Kay-lee,” has been a long-standing traditional dance in Scotland, often done as a group at parties and other events.

All dances will be walked through to give newcomers a chance to learn.

While the event is open to all ages, it is asked that children 12 and under be accompanied by an adult.

Those who plan to attend should wear flat, comfortable shoes, as there will be lots of moving around taking place.

Light refreshments will  be served and participants will also get a chance to see  a display of Highland dancing by the young Highland dancers from Salmon Arm.

Not only does this family-friendly event help create a little laughter and fun, but proceeds raised are being put towards new insulation for the building.

The event runs from 2 to 5 p.m.  on April 13, getting  you home just in time for dinner.

Tickets are $5 for adults, with children 12 and under free, and are available at Conkers, located at 1298 Trans-Canada Highway, Sorrento.
