Local mixed media artist Anne Turner is having her first solo art show, showing a variety of pieces created since 2003, in Nanaimo this month.
The show is called Turning Myself Inside Out, an art therapy process Turner said she used to create the pieces.
“That’s how I did it, I turned myself inside out to find myself,” she said.
Turner said doing art as therapy continues to help her and she encourages others struggling with illnesses to look to art for healing.
The show is dedicated to Turner’s mother who passed away a couple of months ago.
Come meet Anne and chat with her during the show opening, Saturday, July 9 from 12 to 4 p.m, at the Swan Gallery, located at 366 Selby Street in Nanaimo. The exhibition will be held here throughout the month of July.
