The 27th annual Envision Financial Twilight Concert Series kicks off on Friday, June 9, with the Mission Secondary School Music Program taking to the stage.
Mission Secondary’s band program traditionally kicks off the series presenting selections from its dynamic program, including their award winning Jazz Ensemble.
Under the direction of Kim Grant, the students are delighted to get things started and get the concert series underway. Some of the graduating students will be performing for the final time as MSS members, as they transition into new careers and adventures. Many began their performing lives on the Twilight stage at Fraser River Heritage Park.
On Wednesday, June 14, Hatzic Middle School steps into summer spotlight, and performs a variety of music from a successful year. This middle school program under the direction of Julie Aldridge will charm audiences with their enthusiasm and love of performing and music.
The concerts take place rain or shine. The Catholic Women’s League return to offer a variety of snacks from the Log Cabin Concession and the Special Olympics team will be on site to assist with parking.
The Envision Financial Twilight Concerts team is delighted to be part of the District Of Mission’s 125 celebrations. Concert audiences can pick up their passports at the Mission Chamber of Commerce building on the Lougheed Highway and bring it down to the park on concert nights to receive the official stamp. There are plenty of prizes to be had.
Envision Financial has been a strong community partner, with ongoing assistance from the District of Mission, for more than 20 years supporting the popular music series in Fraser River Heritage Park. The concerts run on Wednesday and Friday evenings, beginning at 7 p.m. and wrapping up at 8 p.m.
