The final concert of the 2013 Envision Twilight Concert Series takes place on Friday, Aug. 30.
The event features the sounds of Ten Souljers performing from 7-8 p.m. at Fraser River Heritage Park in Mission.
The finale also features the Envision’s Night of Thanks Corn Roast. Guests can grab a cob of free hot buttered corn and enjoy the show.
Bandleader Marty Robson formed Ten Souljers in 2004 with a simple goal in mind, to become the best party-starting, grin-inducing dance band in Canada and beyond. Robson and singers Karina Morin and D’arcy Han lead the charge of a band boasting guitars, drums, keyboards, and a full horn section. The Souljers bring a high-energy, full-band sound to every one of their songs.
The group’s repertoire of songs is massive and diverse, and reflects their energetic style. Performances run the gamut from Etta James to Rihanna, from Neil Diamond to the White Stripes. Each and every member loves being in the band and performing with them – and it shows. Their on-stage chemistry is abundantly obvious, and their unmistakable enthusiasm is infectious.
“Friday Aug. 30 marks the end of another successful Envision Twilight concert series,” said Carol Hamilton, Envision Financial branch manager in Mission.
This summer The Full Cupboard fundraiser was welcomed by the Twilight Concert Series and together with the help of dedicated concert goers raised over 500 pounds of food and $400 for St. Joseph’s Food Bank.
“We’ve been overjoyed by the participation and support from our community toward reducing hunger in Mission, and we want to offer a big thanks to everyone who comes out to the Envision Financial Night of Thanks corn roast,” said Hamilton.
Admission to the concert is free, but donations to this community-based series are appreciated.
