The Parksville Community and Conference Centre has two movies lined up this week.
Sully (rated PG-13) stars Tom Hanks in a thrilling portrait of heroic airline pilot Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, re-enacting his successful emergency landing of a plane full of passengers on the Hudson River.
Sully is playing Dec. 27 at 1 and 6 p.m., Dec. 28 at 3:30 p.m., Dec. 29 at 1 and 6 p.m. and Dec. 30 at 3:30 p.m.
The other movie is the Hunt for the Wilderpeople (rated PG). Raised on hip hop and foster care, defiant city kid Rocky gets a fresh start in the New Zealand countryside. He quickly finds himself at home with his new foster family: the loving Aunt Bella, the cantankerous Uncle Hec, and dog Tupac. When a tragedy strikes that threatens to ship Ricky to another home, both he and Hec go on the run in the bush. Hunt for the Wilderpeople is equal parts road comedy and rousing adventure story.
Hunt for the Wilderpeople is playing Dec. 27 at 3:30 p.m., Dec. 28 at 1 and 6 p.m., Dec. 29 at 3:30 p.m. and Dec. 30 at 1 and 6 p.m.
