In February Film Kicks will be bringing the award winning movie The Intouchables to the Golden Cinema on Feb. 7.

The film is based on a true story of two men who seemingly come from such different worlds that their budding friendship never should have happened.

Francois Cluzet plays a quadriplegic aristocrat who was injured in a paragliding accident while Omar Sy (who won a Cesar Award for the role) character is a young man from the projects who becomes his caretaker.

As a movie based off of a true story has become an oddly uplifting comedy about friendship, trust and just what humans can accomplish.

Since its release the movie has broken box office records in its native France and across Europe.

The Intouchables could have been a film about the dark side of what could happen to a person who suffers a lose of their physical freedom, however in this case it depicts a strange camaraderie which find its base in honesty and humour between two individuals who come from very different worlds.

In September 2012 the film was nominated as the French entry for the Best Foreign Film for the 85th annual Academy awards.

The film will be starting at 7:30 p.m. and those planning to attend are reminded that if at all possible to bring cash to purchase a ticket.
