Vampires haunting you? Merville’s Garlic Festival is the place to be

With the hall and grounds full of vendors offering over 10 different varieties of garlic, you’ll be able to stay bite free all of August

Merville is the place to be if you want to avoid vampires and werewolves because Sunday, Aug. 7, the Big Yellow Merville Hall is hosting the 5th Annual Garlic Festival.

With the hall and grounds full of vendors offering over 10 different varieties of garlic, you’ll be able to stay bite free all of August.  Food trucks will serve up garlic flavoured fare; and wine and spirit vendors will delight with their garlic pairings and concoctions, helping to get you into the summertime food festival mood.

This is a family event for all ages with a farm yard kids’ zone; garlic sellers who will be delighted to educate you on how to grow your own crop; entertainment by talented local musicians; and “must have” garlic related items that will keep you looking ever hip and hipster.

The Merville hall, in this Land of Plenty, is the hub of the Comox Valley’s agricultural region.  Situated right beside the tourist route between Campbell River and Courtenay, tourists can’t miss it so they’ll flock to this stinkin’ festival.

So, don’t you miss out, either.  Doff the work clothes, don your Sunday Best and come on in to mingle with the Who’s Who of the Glamorous Garlic Glitterati.  The Big Yellow Merville Hall is the place to be seen with your family and friends on Sunday, August 7th.  Doors open at 12:00 noon and the festival runs to 4 p.m.  The hall is on the corner of the Old Island Highway and Fenwick Road.  Vendors welcome.  Ffor more information, call Arzeena 250-702-5657; or Craig 250-339-4249;  or visit www.Mervillehall.org
