The Vancouver Island ArtistFest is a multi media/artists festival taking place on August 25 and 26. The festival will feature live bands and DJs, dancers, a vendors market, walking art/body painting, food and beverage vendors, beer garden, live painting demos, anart gallery, kids’ zone and much more.
Now in its second year, the festival has decided to relocate to Honeymoon Bay, just west of Lake Cowichan.
“We’re very excited to have secured the Honeymoon Bay grounds as the new home for the Vancouver Island ArtistFest, and look forward to transforming it into a highly anticipated local event,” said organizer Matt Beasley.
This year the festival will be raising funds for Surfrider, a west coast based non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves and beaches for all people, through conservation, activism, research and education.
There are over 20 musical acts lined up along with a full vendors market featuring artists from all over Vancouver Island.
Tickets are $60 and can be purchased at the door. Other ticket locations will be announced in the near future. For more information, search Vancouver Island ArtistFest on Facebook, or visit onedimensional.org/artistfest.
There is no on-site camping, so organizers recommend checking out Gordon Bay Provincial Park, or the Honeymoon Bay Lodge and Retreat.
