Fans of the “Star Wars” movies are invited to dress for the occasion when H.R. MacMillan Space Centre hosts a “May the Fourth Be With You” event May 4, starting at 6 p.m.
It’s billed as “an immersive experience where science fiction meets science fact at our special event, featuring an array of activities for fans of all ages.”
Come dressed as your favourite Rebel or Empire character and meet members of Vancouver’s 501st Legion Outer Rim Garrison, a group devoted to the “Star Wars” characters, with photo-ops aplenty.
The evening will also feature a journey through the cosmos during a galactic show in the planetarium, and music by viola player Thomas Beckman. Also planned are discussions on the latest updates from the Artemis mission to the moon, a live science show and hands-on activities in the Cosmic Courtyard gallery.
Event tickets start at $18, or $23 for people 19+, on eventbrite.ca.
Established in 1968, the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre, also known as the Planetarium, is British Columbia’s premier space science attraction, at Vanier Park (1100 Chestnut St., Vancouver).
“This non-profit community resource welcomes over 140,000 visitors a year, and bridges arts, culture, and science to deliver unique shows, exhibits, and special events that spark curiosity and inspire exploration,” a bio says.
