The Vernon Public Art Gallery is offering a special art tour of the Okanagan Print Triennial 2012.
The tour runs Saturday, March 31, and begins at the VPAG with a viewing of the exhibition, Penance, by the 2009 OPT solo exhibition award winner Robert Truszkowski.
MJO Tours will then shuttle participants to Kelowna for a tour of this year’s Okanagan Print Triennial, featuring works by 20 artists from North, South and Central America, at the Kelowna Art Gallery.
The tour will followed by a roundtable discussion with participating artists and curators, including UBC Okanagan associate professor Briar Craig, Kelowna Art Gallery curator Liz Wylie, VPAG curator Lubos Culen, and special guests.
There will be some free time to peruse the cultural district of Kelowna before the group will then relax and enjoy a tasty meal and a wine pairing at The Rotten Grape on Bernard Avenue, returning home shortly after.
“This is a great opportunity for Vernon residents to participate in an art tour of the Okanagan, view international calibre printmaking, and not have to worry about finding parking or making reservations. This is just another example of the creative cultural programming the gallery intends to provide to our members and the public in the future,” said Dauna Kennedy Grant, VPAG executive director.
Cost for the tour is $65 for gallery members, and $75 for non-members (plus HST.) Only 15 seats are available, and booking should be made immediately at the Vernon Public Art Gallery, 3228-31st Ave. Call 250-545-3173.
