Get ready for some pomp and circumstance on April 11 at the Qualicum Beach Civic Centre.

The Victoria Symphony returns for its annual spring engagement, featuring popular conductor Brian Jackson. Maestro Jackson is the principal, pops conductor for the Victoria Symphony, the Kitchner Waterloo Symphony and Orchestra London Canada.

His wit and energy are always a fan favourite, and he brings some added colour to the music with his brief and often humorous explanations.

On April 11, the Victoria Symphony presents Last Night at the Proms — a reprise of the popular concert of the same name that was held last spring in Qualicum Beach.

On the playbill that evening will be such classics as Jerusalem, Pomp and Circumstance, Fantasia on Greensleeves and Four Dances from Facade. They will be joined by other music such as a James Bond medley, Liberty Bell March and selections from Oliver.

The evening of great music is brought to Qualicum via patron Eric Charman and with the supports of sponsors like Quality Foods, Fox and Debbie McKinley and media sponsor, The News and Black Press.

The concert gets underway at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $32 each and are available at the Parksville and Qualicum Beach Mulberry Bush book stores.

As an added bonus, ticket buyers will be asked to place their name in a box at the book stores.

Ten lucky individuals — with a spouse or a guest — will be invited to the VIP reception in the Windsor Room to meet Brian Jackson and orchestra members.

Remember, bring your flags and take part in a little Pomp and Circumstance.
