It’s a quarter of a century worth of evening fashion fun brought to town by the Vanderhoof Department Store.

On Nov. 23, nearly 100 people attended this year’s Annual Christmas Fashion Show, which was hosted, also for the 25th year, at the Village Inn’s banquet room.

Featuring four male and nine female models who showcased various styles including lounge, casual, career, and formal, the dinner and show event was accompanied by live string music for the first time, from the Ens family, said store owner Janet Bangs.

“Every year for 25 years, and we did both spring and winter shows during the first 10 years,” Bangs said.

At the show’s 25th year, various female members of the Bangs family participated in different ways.

“My daughter is emceeing, my niece is helping, my granddaughter is modelling, and my mother is watching,” she said.

As the crowd waited for models to switch outfits, prize draw winners were invited to the stage to answer trivia questions on “grownup girls.”

While some models are walking down the runway for the annual event for the first time, Rosalie Nichiporuk has been modelling for the show since the beginning.

“I haven’t improved my modelling skills, but I have fun doing it and helping out,” Nichiporuk said. “It’s a nice festive evening out.”

Kathy Martens attended the fashion show for the first time.

“It was such a great opportunity to come with your daughter,” Martens said. “I love to see the clothes on actual models.”
